Nitrous Oxide Sedation

If your child requires restorative procedures (fillings, extractions, crowns), Dr. Port will likely use nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas. Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective mild sedative used in pediatric dentistry. Nitrous oxide can help improve cooperation by helping your child to relax. When your child is able to be relaxed during treatment it results in your child having a good experience.

General Anesthesia

Dr. Port may recommend general anesthesia for your child to have their dental needs addressed. General anesthesia allows your child to be asleep when Dr. Port completes their restorations. General anesthesia may be recommended if your child has extensive dental needs, is too young to cooperate or is very anxious about receiving dental care. We are happy to be able to offer in office general anesthesia. We work with Care Point Anesthesia Group and they provide this service with an anesthesiologist.
