We enjoy having patients return every six months to help maintain good oral health and watching your child grow up.

Preventative Visits

Professional Teeth Cleanings, Exam, Digital X-rays, Cavity Risk Assessments and Fluoride Treatments including use of Silver Diamine Fluoride.

Prevention is the number one goal in dentistry and this starts with a routine dental cleaning and exam every 6 months. Our office is here to help you and your child have a happy and healthy smile.

Age One Dental Visits

Having a dental exam at age one is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Dental Association. The focus of this visit is to educate parents about their child’s oral health.

During this visit we also evaluate growth and development of the teeth and jaws. Our goal is to help your child have a lifetime of good dental health.

Learn more about this, see our parent education page.

Digital X-Rays

Our office utilizes digital x-rays to help diagnose decay and other pathology. Digital x-rays use 80% less radiation than conventional plain film x-rays for the safety of your child.

Prevention is the number one goal in dentistry and this starts with a routine dental cleaning and exam every 6 months. Our office is here to help you and your child have a happy and healthy smile.

Sealants

Sealants are a preventive coating placed on the biting surface of molars to try and help prevent cavities.

Learn more about this, see our parent education page.

Restorative Dentistry

Cavities can happen and Dr. Port strives to provide evidence-based dentistry based on the Guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry to treat your child’s teeth. Dr Port will have a discussion with you to explain any necessary treatment your child may need.

Learn more about this, see our parent education page.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide is an inhaled gas that helps reduce anxiety and makes dental treatment easier for the patient. The doctor will discuss this option with each parent and help the parents to make the decision if this is best for their child. We provide Nitrous Oxide at no extra cost.

Learn more about this, see our sedation page,

General Anesthesia

Dr. Port may recommend general anesthesia for your child to have their dental needs addressed. General anesthesia allows your child to be asleep when Dr. Port completes their restorations.
