Schools nationwide have celebrated Every Kid Healthy Week for five years now. Their goal is to create a healthier school environment for students across the country.
More than 3,500 schools and 2 million students, staff, and community celebrate this week and show their commitment to improving schools physical activity programs, school food, and nutrition education.
“Every Kid Healthy Week is an annual observance shared by schools, families, volunteers and community organizations celebrated the last week of April and recognized on the calendar of National Health Observances.”
During this week the students get to taste test healthy foods, plant school gardens, update school playgrounds, and so much more.
What an amazing event to help kids understand the importance of eating healthy and exercising. It really shows them how to have fun with it and how to incorporate it into their everyday lives. We love hearing stories of events like this one and the difference it makes!
